Receiving a basic education is considered by many to be a fundamental human right. Likewise, many people would say it is essential for the exercise of all other human rights. Education provides individual freedom, empowerment and yields important benefits. It is a powerful tool by which economically and socially marginalized individuals can lift themselves out of poverty and participate fully as citizens.

Education helps to stimulate our minds and it can mold inquisitive minds into intellectuals. So, it is a foundation of our society. Further learning can take the intellect to another level by providing a greater understanding of the world around us. It informs the very essence of our actions.

What we do is what we know and have learned, either through instruction or through observation. So education is a path that can carry us to greatness. It is one of the most important pillars of society because without education you cannot contribute substantially to the world. In many instances it is nearly impossible to earn a higher than menial income without the requisite and relevant education. If knowledge is power, then a lack of education is a lack of power and a lack of ability to succeed and to make your mark in your chosen field.

When you know what you can do, you can go that extra mile. Education is what can help to remove our doubts, can help lead to success and helps to make us better human beings. The teacher comes, removes the darkness and suddenly we find how beautiful this world is!

Gaining knowledge alone does not make one educated but education is complete when we learn how to live, how to hope and how to behave towards others. Education then, can lead to self-empowerment and receiving an appropriate education can certainly raise your self-esteem.

It helps you to be better aware of your given surroundings and helps you navigate the pathways to success within the society in which you live. Only when a citizen is aware of the policies of its government can he/she be able to support or counter the change. Education helps you realize your better qualities and potential as a human being. So, let’s all value education, cherish it and utilize it for the betterment of society.
